A postcard from my grandad after his visit to Barbados with his new wife, a native of Barbados. He reported that "friendship is the keynote here." They came on one of our Williamsburg trips. I remember him ordering "a budweiser with a flash of lightning" (I believe this was an old advertising line) at some chain restaurant in Virginia and being told by the waitress that they didn't serve beer because it was a "family restaurant."
